Arnold Palmer Brand Lives on at The Landings

So nice to get out and see Savannah this week and reconnect with PGA Tour golfer #SamSaunders at #TheLandingsClub on Skidaway Island, one of the top private golf communities in America.

Saunders, who I covered as a prep golfer in Orlando , was the guest of honor for the newly opened Marshwood Clubhouse featuring Palmer's Steakhouse and Arnie's Tavern. The cool new club dining venues were inspired of course by Saunder's legendary grandfather, #ArnoldPalmer, who designed 2 of the club's 6 courses.

The Landings' former Marshwood Clubhouse was the original clubhouse when Palmer helped open the private club with his first course, Marshwood Course, in 1974. With two courses designed by the iconic American golfer, The Landings is believed to be one of just two places in America with this distinction.

Now, the club has the first branded Palmer Steakhouse since Palmer's original steakhouse in La Quinta, Calif. Saunders, a professional golfer since 2006, was the principal speaker for the dedication of the clubhouse — the crown jewel of a $25 million multi-year capital improvement plan that also included a new resort-style pool complex at Marshwood, upgrading the club’s fitness center and numerous branded restaurants at other clubhouse locations and the redesigned Franklin Creek clubhouse campus with new family-friendly resort-style pool complex and highly popular casual indoor-outdoor restaurant, The Deck.

Kudos to Landings Club executive director Steven Freund for driving this project along with the tireless support of numerous board members and the visionary partners who helped bring it to life: Atlanta-based #KuoDiedrichChiArchitects and #JBanksDesignGroup of Hilton Head Island and general contractors #ChoateConstruction.

And last but not least, so proud to see Saunders representing his esteemed family's legacy in the utmost of Palmer fashion - with a genuine and welcoming spirit. Here's to Sam shooting another 59 when he returns to play the Korn Ferry Tour’s Savannah Golf Championship on Sept. 28-Oct. 4 at where else, but the Landings' Deer Creek Course
